Mission 10

  This escort mission has been a struggle for two reasons:
  1. With Crossgen116’s patch I can only load the first 10 saves, so I can’t load my save from after finishing it. Renaming save files doesn’t help since it depends upon some directory file that looks binary.
  2. When I try the recommended path, right at the fork and over the jump, I cannot get back to the van in time to save them.
  At least on wimp difficulty it is possible to finish by backtracking and catching up on the main road. I managed it twice though both times my saves turned out unreachable. Even so it’s hard to balance delaying the first pursuers enough and getting back before the van is destroyed near the second road block.
  
  Curious what others are doing to get through this mission.

  Mission 10 is deff one of the harder ones in the game. The Radar Jammer (if it shows up through scrap at that point – I don’t remember if it does that early) or being quick with the ignition key, is pretty crucial so that the cops’ turrets can’t locked onto the player. Overcome the turrets and the cops aren’t overly dangerous. The mines/droppers are also pretty helpful when luring them too. Doing this gives a chance at tackling the cops head on, without using the access roads at all (I didn’t even know the roads were an option till years later lol).

  I managed to do it (in wimp mode) by just boosting it down the dirt path and ignoring the cops chasing me. Took a lot of goes because I kept totalling the car every time I hit a bump, but got there in the end…
